The problem

The story of Aesti began with a personal need – my sister was struggling with severe hair loss. Local solutions in Estonia didn’t deliver the desired results, so we started looking for alternatives. Through online research, we discovered methods developed in Finland, where one of the key ingredients for achieving a healthier scalp and more beautiful hair was therapeutic peat. The results were positive and sparked many family discussions about how this magical natural resource could be used to create beauty products that promote health and skin wellbeing – and how many more people it could help.

Research

We began exploring ways to use Estonian peat in the production of beauty products. It turned out that local peat had so far been used mainly as fuel and fertilizer, while its cosmetic properties had remained largely overlooked. We started collecting extensive materials and mapping the unique characteristics of peat.

Product development

In collaboration with the University of Tartu and Tallinn University of Technology, we conducted a series of experiments to understand the healing properties of peat. Each discovery brought us one step closer to the final product. Eventually, we developed a filtration technology that made it possible to create pure, 100% organic, and stable peat composition – the foundation of all Aesti beauty products.

Collaboration

To create effective and user-friendly beauty products, we partnered with Estonia’s leading natural cosmetics company, Chemi-Pharm AS. Our goal was to find natural ingredients that would work harmoniously with peat and help achieve a functional and skin-friendly final product.

Award-winning beauty line

After five years of research, experiments, setbacks, and successes, the first Aesti product was born – the peat shampoo. This effective and natural scalp-care shampoo was recognized the same year of its launch as “Estonia’s Best Natural Beauty Product” by Anne & Stiil and “Estonia’s Highest-Quality Natural Beauty Product” by Iluguru. These awards were a testament to our hard work and a clear sign that we were moving in the right direction.

Step by step, we have been establishing our presence abroad. In addition to Estonia, our peat-based beauty products are now available in Japan, India, selected European countries, and the United States.

In 2025, Aesti received a fresh new beginning — a new website was launched, and the visual identity of our products became clearer and more refined. Our goal is to grow internationally while staying true to our core values and original inspiration.

We make no compromises when it comes to ingredients – every raw material must be of the highest quality and carefully selected from both natural and science-based alternatives. We believe in the balance between the power of nature and proven efficacy, to create solutions that truly work.

    We believe that beauty doesn’t need chemicals. We carefully select our raw materials, studying their origin and processing. We exclude all ingredients with questionable or unclear sources, ensuring that our products are safe and enjoyable for everyone.

    We grew up surrounded by animals and have always admired them in the wild. We strongly stand for their well-being. Our products contain no animal-derived ingredients, and we never test on animals.
